Estyn – Pupil Resources

We were approached by Estyn to create resources for use by primary and secondary school council pupils. The goal of these resources is to aid discussion and guide students through topics of conversation in their school council meetings.

Instead of the usual static Powerpoint presentaions that Estyn traditionally used, we gamified the resources by creating a series of web-based interactive 'walkthroughs'. Pupils are now able to control a character and walk through a school setting where they are prompted to answer questions on a specific subject. This is far more engaging for the students and reports from teachers have been overwhelmingly positive.

We designed all of the characters based on the Estyn 'knot' logo. The illustrations are bright and bold, and there are visual clues in every setting to help aid the school council discussion. There are resources for both Primary and Secondary school students and are available in Welsh and English.
